Thanks Agra. Glen Kotzen is a far better trainer than he is a tipster, so lets hope that truism holds! Also, surprised to see Western Explorer leave Princess Creo out of his Snaith selections! BTW, the Snaith yard lives for the big race days. Leave them out of any race tomorrow at your peril!

My treble :-

Platinum Ruler X Cape Royal X Blake (7/1)
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

Talking about Trainer J. Snaith, interesting that the best bet on the card may come from the very first race.

Everything drifting, but not number 11 Blue Train now 8/1 from 15/1 straight after the card was changed and Blinkers were added to Blue Train.... mmmm Interesting but I know exactly where money is going.

For all the Jackson, Pomodoro and Slumdog Millionaire supporters, for the life of saving... please spare your cash for an E/W bet on the J&B Met because really we are no fools and I'd never in a million years spend a dime on any other horse in tomorrows field, we all know why Jackson, PD and SD are running tomorrow... well for the run, they are there for the J&B Met and ALL incl. JACKSON looking for further, plain and simple. For all Variety Club supporters and/or non supporters Enjoy watching the 4 Year old VAR colt winning tomorrow.

Very nice post (tu) I see exactly where you are going and you are bang on Cap Alright, jockey has been changed to Mxothwa who carries a 4.00 allowance so Cap Alright now carries 57.00 kg's. Perfect sence and once again Snaith.... Well what can I say, it's starring us all in the face.

Rather take 3/10 fixed place top 3 on Masked Lady, than 11/20 win on Princess....makes more sense in my eyes

Bushy. You are right. I have to tell you, the illiquid betting markets in SA drive me nuts. What happened with Princess Creo's betting is screwed up. I live in the States (although come to SA often and will be at my home in Cape Town on an extended stay arriving in time for Met day) so obviously I a used to the bigger more liquid market. But the system in SA of claiming prices in anticipation of a flood of money is ludicrous in my view. I have a good relationship with my bookmakers in SA. That said, they know I like to back my horses that have a chance. So, as soon as the race got priced up Princess was claimed. This was before I got my bet on. There was not a flood of money for my horse - rather an anticipation of a flood of money. As a result, the market gets screwed up early. This illiquidity is a big problem and is what prevents SA from becoming a proper marketplace. Unfortunately, the solution is one that doesn't resonate with the bookies. Namely, no bookies. Forgive the rant, but this issue is not mainstream enough to ever get focused on. Takes away from the joys of owning horses somewhat.

Favorites who probably won't win tomorrow and race review.

Race 1 : Estivation... Not a drum
Race 2 : Princess Creo, last run no extra late... Watch the first timer and why is F. Coetzee on the Snaith 1st timer?
Race 3 : Spot on... Favorite will win this race.
Race 4 : Earth's Orbit, Goes to the front... Race over!!! but if not from draw 7 then Dumani. Jeans Pride no chance once again running with no Alumites, rest of the field soup meat really.
Race 5 : Can't give you a winner here but I can say this, Happy Archer, Cause to Believe, Super Elegant, Bambina Stripes, Beloved Betty, Europe to Africa, Alvilda, Hammie's Hooler, Jet Aglow, NO CHANCE of winning. Dubai Gina and Beach Beauty hard to beat, worthy favorite BB IMO.
Race 6 : Cape Royal, will probably watch the race from the back and will cross the finish line in the same fashion, Maybe one for the PA or trifecta's. Cap Alright far too good... Watch the stable companion Casual Var but for the larger quartets
Race 7 : The Which Doctor.... I'll give you 20/1 (tu) The roughie will surprise here, maybe Splendid Sun, Street Runner or Captain's Lullaby.
Race 8 : Spot On... Favorite will win this race. Give me a good reason why it can't win.
Race 9 : Love Struck for Lafferty... 3yo carrying 58.00 and 10 3yo carrying 55.00 or less, really i'd have to be silly to back Love Struck at that price, IMO, anything can win this race but I like Greys in Control and Act Fast.
Race 10 : Spot on... Favorite will win this race, WHY? 3rd run after a rest and probably cherry ripe, will be impossible to beat.

So a safe bet would be the ATC... Bomb the bet, enjoy the racing and go collect Race 3 Platinum Ruler to win onto Race 8 Variety Club to win onto Race 10 Blake to win 7/1 ;)
