News is that champion jockey Gary Stevens is making a comeback at 50years.Hope this doesnt say a lot about the quality of jockeys in America at the moment than it says about the man who is seeking to prove himself still a champion.All the best to him

One of a kind Lester and can never be imitated.It will be a brilliant story if Stevens nabs a Group One but the opposite will blemish an otherwise outsanding career.

Gary Stevens is making his comeback today after more then seven years.He will be riding a horse called Jebrica at Santa Anita in Race 6...

In SA we had the one and only Stanley Amos who was still riding successfully when he retired at age 64 after 52 years in the saddle. At his last meeting he racked up a second, three thirds and a fourth !

"Big Race" Joe Byrnes was another SA rider that rode well into his 60's...saw Robbie Thompson riding work at clairwood the other morning and he is still super active at the tender age of 70 :)
