i feel absolutely sick about what happened, not because of a result that i thought was not worthy, but just because of the fact that i had MASSIVE multiples running onto Cape Royal, and to go down to an objection to kill something like that was sickening...Titch was not trying to stick any punters out and was posting what he got told were the instructions and what the plan for the race was for the horse, however, just because Glen was instructed to give the horse an easy ride as titch clearly stated, but from 200m out he was working flat out on the horse, does not mean that certain people here can have a go at him trying to stick punters out by giving the wrong information...if an owner and a trainer give a jock instructions but he chooses during the race to do something else, then that is for him to have to face when the connections confront him about it, not of someone elses concern who is just looking to help a fellow punter out from the information that he is privileged to have...sure it is great for andy to have won the race, but do you not think they would have liked to have won it with their money on? if they were going for the win their own money would have been down on it...but the real question is with Glen, and why he decided during the race that he was going to fight it out and use his whip all the way to the line, then immediately call for an objection...i talk from a pure objective point, as i still showed a small profit in the race but could have been smiling all the way to christmas if it had won, so the view i take is that Glen was instructed to give the horse an easy ride, that implying that if HF won it would win in a cantor and CR would have to work very hard to catch it, or 2 just sit off the pace and ride the horse out...i do however also feel that Karl was far, far, far too confident on CR and at 200m out he thought he had the race won, it almost seemed like the instructions that were given to Glen, were actually adopted by Karl...so yes technically im talking from my pocket, BUT, at the same time dont go have a go at Titch over this, because in actual fact, i heard about the work that HF put in with a certain very good horses in the stable and spoke to him about it, and he told me just like he did to everyone else on ABC that they werent going wild in this run, so i changed my bet, and not having a go at him...i think you all should respect what people have to post and appreciate what ever it is they have to say

You all missing the point,if the jock was instructed to give the horse a easy ride its against the nhra rules, but they are a bunch of useless twats so who cares

Surely you are not saying that anyone misunderstood your post Rob and interpreted it one way whereas your intention was something different? ;)

And yes Titch shares... some things. But I still fail to see what great benefit could have been gained by anyone when he shared it... so I am not sure what these grand conspirators who "use" him to post to the few hundred viewers on ABC were hoping to gain? maybe I am being naive myself and missing something as I often do but, I have to say, this all sounds very much like "Kenilgate" but, on this occasion, there is no gate to be opened for further investigation :)

"Connections" had the money down.....they didn't want to lose that race.....a dead heat means half the return.....

the point is as follows, irrespective of instructions or future plans or betting.

When the horse is in a position to win Hatt has to make sure he rides it to win. I think had he simply ridden it out and been beaten there would have been an outcry.

I dont think there is anything wrong with this situation, clearly the best horse won

100% - An "easy" ride has become standard practice in SA - NHRA should look closer at the rides given to some horses.

Why thank you Rob :)-D and of course very wise not to try and fool an idiot ;) If ever you need help with some hindsight you just let me know and I may well surprise you and help you out :)-D

But, hmmmm, help me out here cos I am not sure what hindsight I am using in this instance? Indeed, the only hindsight I can see is your post based on your interpretation of what Titch and AF were saying in their messages? And perhaps, again in hindsight, you might be tempted to say that there is the slightest of possibilities you got it totally, partially, minutely wrong? Just a little bit... possibly, maybe, perhaps...? :)

Englander I had no bet (had both in exotics) I have developed my own rating/handicap systems over years and thats all I ever use ..................during the course of the day I read the fancies as pure interest.
An early post was by Kittycatoo,to which he got a "check your sources" response from Titch, which is code for "you don't know what you talking about"..............."let me tell whats really going down."
The betting, running and result proved the "misinformed " Kittycatoo was spot on.
The horse was claimed and every time it drifted,it shortened again, including right up to the off.......and Its NOT that the horse won......its how it was ridden to win, that contradicted the "real" story........and yes I do think that Titch truly believed everything he said...................but we have to accept that somebody knew better and got the lot.............well done if it was you Kittycatoo.
