It is exactly this type of thinking that hypes up the sales value of the would be progeny of such a mating but has ruined the chances of breeding a true champion..... Other top Gr1 winning mares
like Sarabande and Shadow Dancing have been sent to Var and produced high priced but very me
mediocre off spring.....

Ziets it took me 10 years an average of 5hrs a day on a computer to study pedigree and breeding theories.....and I'm still learing more.....so to try and teach or summerise is not so easy........Frankel has what I would term a complete pedigree picture in that he has SW X Mr P X Danzig a combination known to work well. I do not believe that River Jetez needs any SW in such a combination and made the suggestion that while she was abroad get covered by Sea The Stars a half brother to Frankel's sire Galieo a better fit IMO. Frankel X RJ would make a very busy picture and dilute rather than enhance the various strengths in her own ped however her tail line could go well with that of Frankel's dam but still the pedigree is far too busy.......KIS.....Keep It Simple....seems to work far better

@Muhtiman - i think your views here, whether correct or not, are the reason ABC is such a success. I know nothing about breeding and would have as many did wet myself over this partnership, however after reading your thoughts i must admit they make plenty sense.
I didn't choose the #puntlife, the #puntlife chose me!

Richie77...well put. I am afforded the chance to liase with people with whom I would otherwise never associate.(tu) That is why I appreciate when someone tells me that I am a dummkopf because....distance is wrong etc...I then go back and look at what I missed and why they said it. At least here you can get criticized by a knowledgeable person and it costs you zilch.(tu)

Thanx guys.....I just want the average guy or the zillionaire get more bang for their buck..... Like the okes have highlighted on the other thread 3 horses in race 8 today cost more money than what all the horses that ran today have ever earned in lifetime stakes.... Investing in horses is risky but knowing something about what you are buying may not make you rich but a little advice will certainly limit your losses.....and then you always have a chance to pick up a low priced superstar

Muhtiman...i learned to read and speak english out of a yearling sales catalogue 24 years ago ,9 years old.....i still have every book, from computaform to sires handbook from that time on the farm(not allowed to bring them the city, fiance know that she will then get no attention)....i love pedigrees and my best pick was a year ago in the cape ready to run sale...lot 47....i loved the pedigree and told my dad to get back in the horses ,i knew i found something with really big potential on pedigree and she wont cost a fortune ....he declined my enthusiasm and she was bought by mr steyn.....and yes that same lot 47 hammered them again on saturday....SUPER ELEGANT....
Please excuse me if i get annoyed sometimes with the pedigrees but i am still learning from the wiser guys...
