New Virus hits Durbanville :?

It is called Baddrawtitise and seems to be spreading:-

Race 1 ~ 5 Mamselle Du Barry Not eating up (drew 16)
Race 1 ~ 7 Amora Elevated Temperature (drew 14)
Race 6 ~ 4 Palos Verdes Coughing (drew 15)
Race 6 ~ 6 Game Over Temperature (drew 16)
Race 6 ~ 12 Green Light Off feed (drew 14)

Race 7 ~ 15 Gold Academy Insufficient Recovery Time (drew 13)

Race 8 ~ 13 River Ting Coughing (drew 15)

Race 8 ~ 11 Hammie's Flyer Urticaria (drew 16)

Surely it is time to revisit the draws after acceptances policy which is leaving the owners with an option of running their horses from bad draws or suffering a suspension which equates to crack 1 bad draw and the month is gone ...

I am sure it will spread with the numerous cancelled meeting due to weather and an increase in owners/trainers trying to find races for the horses

Its frustrating to see your horse get eliminated and then a couple of hours later after scratchings some trainers scratch their horses because they drew badly.

100000000% correct Contest horses that would run from a bad draw dont even get a chance..if they insist in keeping this ridiculous system then why they dont have reserve runners in all races is beyond me

Why don't owners and trainers protest like the miners did, refuse to race until demands are met.... ;)

From the other side of the fence...it's frustrating to see small fields too. Shows how biased some courses are...

I've no idea what owners pay to enter a race, but maybe an incentive to let reserve runners enter free of charge and the scratched runner forfeits its fee? (I don't know how it works, but this is just an idea.)

Because the trainers took a vote and majority ruled......for me a no brainer to accept knowing your draw in the noms.....problem is the fields were too small as any trainer with a high draw in noms wasn't accepting ....a catch 22!
