Works well overseas I suppose but after all these years in racing I have yet to see people sporting Politician or Sea Cottage or Pocket Power T'shirts or caps.

I cannot see the situation changing in the near future, the biggest challenge is to get people back to the Racecourse.

the focus is on the R20 punter who spends R5 on his Citizen so no bucks for any memorabilia - buying a Computaform is his biggest expense - Noble idea but the wrong country

A good idea would be for the Phumelela to compile a slickDVD edit of the Graded winners for the season and GIVE a 20 away per Tab branch at Xmas time - Goodwill and it would deviate from the addiction aspect of racing

Some years ago I did think of putting together a calender, with artistic shots of the racecourse and the racing, to be sold on course around Christmas time. But I dropped the idea because of the low numbers of people coming to the course, and the even lower numbers (=0) that I saw going into the shop (that was at Scottsville).
