UK Racing for Saturday
12 years 9 months ago
Im backing Ponty Acclaim 4-15 Beverley..
Ran a cracking race behind Tax Free at York last time, top 3 were drawn high and she was best of low numbers.
Race before it fly-jumped leaving the stalls and pulled hard in rear.
Only 1 of two 3yr olds in the race and still has improvement in her.
If it is soft as predicted she has a good draw in 5..
At 10/1 with Ladbrokes and 9/1 in most places its worth an ew bet...

BRIAN MEEHAN RUNNERS
Saturday runners (Sept 1, 2012)
CATFISH (Sandown 2.15 p.m.) The balance of her form suggests 6f is too far, whereas a stiff 5f – she gets that here – looks ideal. Recent home work suggests she’s back to her best and should go well in a tough field.
ELUSIVITY (Beverley 4.15 p.m.) An easy winner at Newmarket (conditions) he then found things happening too quickly over Goodwood’s minimum in Group 2 company. This track and the ease back to Listed class could bring another win to this tough sprinter.
NELSON’S BAY (Sandown 5.35 p.m.) Very consistent without winning over a mile on good to firm this year, the gelding looks ready for the step up to ten furlongs and should go well.
BALLESTEROS (Bath 6.10 p.m.) Five-time winner has had a nice break since failing at odds-on at Beverley two months ago. Highest-rated of these and unpenalised, he can get back to winning ways on a day when our three classiest sprinters are all in action. What does that say about race planning?

The possible deserved winner of the 3rd at Sandown Falls Of Iora didn't find a place in the end after being squeezed out on the rail. False rail debate rears its head again.
