Is there anybody out there?

The Superfecta was a bet that was only available on the TVL tote.It was @ .10 cents a line but capped at min 10% with subsequent increases of 10%, 20% , 30% etc.

It was not an easy bet and sometimes even bombs in 5th and 6th places boosted payouts.Now we have Jackpots in minor centres even overseas where the pools don't exceed R100,000 on most occasions.

Why not bring back the Superfecta considering it was only avail on TAB TVL and telephone bet a/c holders countrywide but now with Saftote haven't the playing fields levelled?

As a rule it should be stipulated that Betmark cards only be used as someone standing in a tote queue can spend a lot of time calling the bet out to the operator.

With the technology i'm sure Quickpick Superfectas could be offered by the Saftote?On the same lines of Lotto quickpick.

There was a time around the new millenium and there was no Saftote but there was TVL tote and KZN tab.Those were good ole days because you were spoilt for choice as to where you could place your bets.

The Pick Six on TVL tote was R1-00 unit with fractional betting offered.However on KZN tote the Pick six was -10cent unit but capped at Min 10% and escalating to 20%, 30% etc.

The dilemma was where to place the bet as the TVL pools on say a Turffntein pick six was big sometimes close to one mill rand.
The out of province pool at Kzn tote for the same Turffntein pick six could be R200,000 to R300,000.

Now if I played a perm on TVL tote and it worked out 1% and the dividend was R1,000,000- I collect a nice R10,000- for 1%
However if the same perm on KZN tote resulted in a pick six dividend of say R200,000-, becos of 10% cap I collect a nicer R20,000-

With couplings and scratched horses included the payout on KZN tote outperformed the fractional TVL tote, as you went to 20%, 30%,40% etc .OF THE POOL.

Looking at a few sites overseas and guess what, the Superfecta in USA requires you to tip first four horses in corrrect order , just like the Quartet we have here.

Superfecta the way to go !!! R1 unit... fractional bets allowed. First race ....last race every meeting ...unless less than 8 horses take part. Last race of the month... SUPERFECTA SUPER CARRYOVER race.
