No Titch, you are missing the point. It's obviously not worth it to the bloke, and he's entitled. If he plays the way he processes races he is a winner at this. You probably find he can make more in a week than they can pay him in a month.
The other thing is that tipping to people changes the way a person plays because it's harder to remain detached. I guarantee 2c will win more left to his own devices than with the world looking over his shoulder.
Tipping publicly will ALWAYS be left to those who cannot show a regular profit. I will be thrilled to see one example to the contrary.

No gents I'm afraid you are all missing the point ! As one of many fans of Darryl Maree, I only ask him if the following rumour is true - " That Mr Ken Rutherford lord of the small screen and squire of many days spent reveling on golf greens offered Mr Maree a NON-NEGOTIABLE AND ANNUAL increase of R50 a shift ? ''. Is this the bottom line Mr Maree ? I'm embarrassed for you and more importantly angry on your behalf ! So at the end of the day top notch RACING ANALYST + TIPSTER Darryl Maree has been lost on TV for the paltry sum of FIFTY RAND and take my word for it.

Best of luck for the future Darryl, as said several times in this thread, they will be chapping your door soon enough.
As usual Telly Track show an unbelievable knack of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.
Mr Rutherford, if you don't yet realise that most people tune in to listen to Darryl's selections, then just look at the Bookies reaction to almost every horse he tips, especially the horses at 10/1 and above, they are slashed long before race time.
It is your Job to look after the assets of Telly Track and USO, you are showing a dereliction of your duty, by refusing to pay your prized asset a salary which equates to both his knowledge, and his popularity, sufficient to say that you probably neither know, nor care

" P " you bowed down to Julie after about 1 year sabbatical, don't make the same mistake with Darryl......... take hime back SOONER rather than LATER.

have you considered your own tipping line? I am sure there are a few guys who will pay for your analysis of a race I do not want to call it tipping as would rather prefer you give analysis about the races your fancy and each person makes up his own mind how to play his/her selections.

2 cents is it true that the increase per shift was about the same as a box of cigs and coke?

Good point, Rob.Probably "apprenticed " to Alan or back-up in case of slip-ups or something?
Remember he was down there to help over their annual big-race two day bonanza, I can't even recall what the name is.
