uk wednesday..

Goodwood 5-30..
Rakaan 25/1 and 28/1..
Finished last at Newmarket on its previous run,but you can put that down to
the heavy ground conditions.Won a hot handicapp at Meydan this year beating M.DeKocks Atlantic Sport
by 3 Lenghts.Has good course form and has the 2 draw over 7 furlongs, which is very handy.
There is always hard luck stories in big field races over the trip.If Frank Spencer can can get a handy
position it could be a value ew bet..
Keep stakes low,any number of horses could win,its a typical Goodwood race, but Rakaan looks overpriced.
When i did my own prices i had Rakaan down as a 12/1 shot taking into account the draw and ground conditions..

Very average, but my brother-inlaw was bad.We played match-play,i gave him 12 shots and the loser had
to buy dinner for our 12 strong party. He as been saying all year how he will thrash me and he has got his
handicapp mark down to 18... i beat him 4 and 3.....
He did beat me at Scrabble, which hurt my pride and pocket...Amazing what you can punt on LOL

What a dick-head that Spencer is,talk about mess up a good draw.Watch it on www.sportinglife.com
Missed the start, last until he eventually moved his arms 2 furlongs from home and passed 12 horses
to finish a never nearer 5th,one place short of a pay-out...The times he does this is unreal,he just as well as
been drawn 20...Watch it and give me your views

Watched it live Dave. I entirely agree. The only thing I would say is that there were numerous jocks throughout the day who did the same, Buick for one in the 4th race I think. What I fail to understand is why, with a wall of horses infront, the jocks look for gaps down the inside or through the middle rather than just bringing the horse a little wider. Yes, it costs a little ground etc but surely it must give them a better winning chance than hoping for a miracle gap to appear, especially if they do it about 3 or 4 furlongs out rather than wait for the mad scramble. Even on day 1, in comparatively small fields, there were a couple that got themselves into impossible positions and had to settle for second. I understand, it simply happens sometimes etc etc but the frequency of it is a little alarming based on this one meeting. Do they have a South African jockey trainer in the UK now??? lol

Engles Frank Spencer does it as a hobby,he is a poor mans Richard Hughes,,
Tries to be too clever, same mould as that belgian twat Soumion..They are good horseman but
dont play the percentages.Always want to win on the lollipop...Only good thing is they dont seem to get the ride again.
Rakaan must be put in the notebook.I could understand if it was a hold-up horse but it isnt...
Watch out for jockeys Metcalfe, formerly known as Geran and young lad called Bergin who claims,he will be on some plots this year..

Fully aware of Spencer's rep Dave, just saying in this meeting it seems to be a virus rather than just him.
I don't look at UK racing Dave, only doing Goodwood as I used to go every year on Sussex Stakes day. If you could nudge me if you see something it would be greatly appreciated... if you forget, busy or whatever, as always, no problem (tu)
How's that head this morning? :)o
