Seems it was definitely cancelled mate, seen a number of references to it plus this as an explanation (FCF is Catalan Football Federation or something like that! (
) ) ...
The match had originally been scheduled to take place on July 31, but was cancelled after Barca decided against fielding their first team due to a congested fixture list, which sparked an angry reaction from Espanyol.
However, the Blaugrana issued a statement on Monday saying that they had agreed to the FCF's proposal to move the contest to September 26, several weeks into the new season.
But after Espanyol CEO Joan Collet called a press conference on Tuesday to announce that his side did not agree to play the match at a later date, the FCF has now decided to cancel the match for a second time.
Every fan who purchased tickets for the match will be refunded in a period no longer than 15 days.
