O he made a LOT of money @ Bruma and any bookmaker that stood there will confirm the figures....he has supported Formgrids for 7 years on his own and will continue to do so if no support is forthcoming but why should he not look for assistance?? I dont understand your question??

Finally, Titch admits horse racing is crooked. One race crooked is one too many.

squeaky clean.
This is a great break through for Titch!!

Oscar perhaps like a fool I gave it all away,, every sob story,, but it does not worry me because many people needed the help,,, money had no value,, I used to tip 40k after some meetings to waitresses, kitchen staff and security,, also lost plenty by opening a night club in Sandton,, then lost more on exporting curios and so the list goes on,,,,

Hi Boys, Girls and Others
As I have stated before on this website I am an Old Timer, punting since 1965, even tried ownership and breeding on a small scale against the big boys. I used to get some good 'info' from my stable/connections, then again some of it was way off the mark
Very interesting THREAD this with a lot of diverse opions. With the amount of MONEY involved in Horse Racing it would be prudent for anyone to think that this game is lily white. Horse Racing is a Trainers livehood, for owners a very expensive hobby and for the average punter an expensive passtime. All of these people are a prerequisite for the continuation of the SPORT.
To me the BIGGEST problem in Horse Racing today is the appilication of the MR system and the understandable attempts to manipulate the MR of a horse. Good horses are being hanicapped not to win and mediocre horses given unfair advantages, time and time again. So what are trainers forced to do but to try and manipulate their horses performances in a race, artifically, to influence for a lower MR. This is done so that a Horses can eventually become competitive and earn a returrn for the Owners, not only for the stakes but as a betting propersition as well. With the modern so called transpercy the problem here is that only the 'insiders' really know what is gioing on, a prep run, a run to drop the MR, ets. I recall the genius, Mr Ormonde F, who stated on 'Telly Track' that he is confused now a days with the MR system of how and when to place his horses. I have never met Charl Pretorius but had the audacity to phone him to discuss Horse Racing in general. Basically he agreed with what I have stated here that it has become more difficult to analyse any race.
I started out to reply to comments posted on this thread but there are so many, and so diverse, that they may deserve a thread on their own.
My conclusion is to either get financially involved or to pick up the scraps that are offerred by those that are 'involved' that post on this site, for which I am thankfull.
My recommendation is that one should never risk more than one can afford to lose, no matter what the perceived pot of gold might be. This I learned from a wise old Trainer who also stated that what one does with your hard earned income is only your decision.
Apologies for the long post, be thankful it could of been even longer.
I am now going to have another well deserved Dalwhinnie and Cigar.
Prosperous punting to all.
