Hollywood in running - Why did you cancel my ticket
13 years 1 month ago
I took a bet in running on Liverpool just after they scored. Fair enough they had Liverpool at the wrong price so i took 7000 to a 1000 for them to win and 7000 to 2000 for them to draw. They cancel the win bet and leave the draw bet. Its only fair my both bets get cancelled not the one that suits them !!!!

3-0 at half time. I have now taken Liverpool to win 7-1 at 125/1

Hi
I am new on this sight as a member but have been reading a lot o posts and think this sight just gr8!!!
Coming back to the subject I hve from experience had the same problem with other betting sites. We all know that each betting sight has their rules but who determines what is right or wrong. Yes sure enough 7/1 oppose to 1/7 is wrong, but as most online punters will do they will take a bet if the odds are gr8. Whether it is the right price or not, am I wrong? Or am I being a cheat?
However if a betting site is slow to update a price and a event is going off and you take a 6/10 as opposed to 9/10 on other sites, does that not equate to the same but on the other side of the scale? The answer you will get is "NO, that was our price, we had a lotta pressure for that event".
Another incident was when I took a multi which the site allowed, after the first leg was off I got a phone call to say my bet not valid due to a related bet. Question, why wait till after the first leg. This was a rugby game so they had ample time to ph during the game as well.
Has this ever happened to you? I am wrong to question these incidents?
I just feel as punters we really do get the wrong end of the stick. Sighhhhhh:(

I have been a punter and a bookie for years and mistakes happen but i would think that both parties should honourable enough to realise and act on mistakes like we should..
Tbh as punters we should all know the betting rules and if you want to chance your luck fair enough, but if the error is acted upon we should also be big enough to take it and move on...
Ycentaur, staff not knowing thier job is a big problem.

You hit nail on the head Hibernia. Staff!!! And sometimes(most times) the bosses dont know what crap they get up to and in the end they lose customers.
Just think management could handle problems better sometimes. Like my problem with related bet. I honestly didnt know it was a related bet(all sports....5legs) but why ph me after 1st leg played and won. If it lost? I will never know will I? That was my gripe.

Ycentaur ,an example of a related bet would be Rooney to score 1st and Man utd to win.. (if rooney scores 1st goal utd would be even bigger favourites etc)
another one most bookies dont take ,but i do in our shops is for example booking points and over the goals combined.. If a player gets sent of it`s more logical that more goals could be scored..
Hollywood send all their shop staff on training courses and try their hardest to have well trained staff
