HA Jammy Jockeys

pissed myself when i read this and thought maybe saldiani had sent this into the Citizen (
)
Jammy Jockeys
For some time now we have had horse race meetings in South Africa either delayed or cancelled because the jockey felt that it was unsafe to continue due to the strong wind, lightning or rain.
The latest was the delay in the third race at the Greyville night race on April 17.
Having betted on horses for a number of decades, I feel that this lack of consideration for the punter is becoming unacceptable!
It is time for all involved in SA racing to call a halt to these inconsiderate jockeys who cause meetings to be delayed or cancelled at the slightest excuse.
If you consider the conditions that their counterparts ride in in the rest of the world, particularly in the UK, it is time that the jockeys who continually disrupt horse race meetings are replaced by jockeys who are less selfish.
If this is not done the industry will continue to lose the support of the punters who invest large sums of money betting on racing.
I prefer to bet on the many overseas race meetings.
Come on owners and trainers, it is time we put these prima donnas in their place!

i was at greyville the other night and the lightning was pretty frightening and if anybody knows about the effects of lightning ask jockey martinus mienie...the writer of this letter is talking absolute shit as the welfare of both jockey and horse is the utmost priority
