I read today that he may come out of retirement and captain the Boks against England? Surely not as he has not played since the ill fated match against the Aussies.

Agree , had a wonderful career but the thought of him returning turns the stomach. The Bulls are playing great rugby and it just shows that we've got plenty of depth in South african rugby, definately it's time for a change of guard. With that in mind quite comical Butch James turning International rugby up when it was quite plain to see that his days are truely numbered aswell especially as he's battling to make a poor Lions starting XV.

Matfield has made no decision yet, but did confirm that if he does make a come-back, he would stay with the Bulls and not the Sharks as rumours have it.....his words on twitter, My bloed is Blou

As matter of interest. Who will be the no 4 & 5 for the Boks?

Bekker, (injury prone) Flip van der Merwe (walking yellow card) Bakkies Botha (In France) Eben Etzebeth, Elstad, Juandre Kruger & Franco van der Merwe.

Also heard that Jaque Fourie is not interested to play for the Boks

From the team's perspective, it would not be such a bad idea - but let's 'pencil in' the captain for the World Cup squad now - then Victor can be his mentor and play 20 to 40 minutes per game.

Form Victor's perspecive, I don't think he has anything to gain, people will be quick to say that there are no room for 'passengers' in the side, etc.

Apparently the Boks' contracts are a shambles and if not sorted out soon, we may have a problem putting a competitive team on the field against the English
