Scotia after the weekend
13 years 4 months ago
Good evening all, a bit delayed but had a very busy weekend and it was much the same today.
We had a great Classic/World Cup day but could have done with a few more winners and how many missed the classic "mugs double", Jamal and Slumdogmillionaire at 60/1?
Some pics from Saturday.. Classic Day Album but again disappointed with the general track attendance for some great racing.
A big thank you to Molly and Ken for giving me 12 mins on the World Focus show on Tellytrack.. REPLAY
Our next big day will be on the 28th April and should again be some great racing and hope to see a bigger turnout.
Plus the sale, plenty comments on the site............link..........find a champion.
We are now looking forward to the flat season in the UK where Frankel, Black Caviar and Camelot (5/2 Investec Derby) in addition to our USA feed, Kentucky Derby fav is Union Rags at 5/1.
The longest race in the flat season? Correct, its the Grand National where the Gold Cup winner might run, but feel a safer bet will be Junior on Sat the 8th April, it might be easier to find the winner of the Aintree hurdle where Oscar Whisky is worth a punt.
We also have plenty posts on Rugby ............link....... thanks to Garrick
Plus Soccer, the Geordies are doing me proud and Man United look home and hosed.
Competition going strong, its a new month.............
I went to the bottle store to buy a 6 pack.
I ended up getting a case of long toms, 2 bottles of whisky, a box of wine and a bottle of Jagermeister.
I think I might be a "shopaholic"?
Good punting and may your God be with you.

Frankel among stellar entry for Lockinge Stakes
BY PAUL EACOTT 3:46PM 3 APR 2012
SUPERSTAR colt Frankel could face a stellar line-up when he makes his eagerly anticipated return to action at Newbury next month.
The five-time Group 1 winner is set to line-up in the JLT Lockinge Stakes on May 19 where he will be trying to stretch his unbeaten record to ten.
However the likely presence of last season's runaway 2,000 Guineas winner has not scared off potential rivals with a whole host of big names featuring among the 20 entries.

£1m Sussex clash offered to Frankel and Caviar
BY PETER SCARGILL 00:01AM 5 APR 2012
A £1 MILLION carrot has been dangled in front of the connections of Frankel and Black Caviar in an attempt to bring the world's two highest-rated horses together in the Qipco Sussex Stakes.
Won last year by Frankel, the 1m Sussex Stakes has a prize fund of £300,000 and the increasingly influential Sheikh Fahad, who sponsors the race, has promised to inject a further £700,000 into the pot if the two unbeaten stars line up at Goodwood on August 1.
The prospects of Frankel and Black Caviar clashing are likely to be determined by the programmes the pair are set, with a 1m2f campaign the idea for Frankel while Black Caviar is yet to race beyond 7f.
Should Frankel fail to stay, he could be dropped back to 1m while Black Caviar's trainer Peter Moody has previously stated his openness to races for his mare after she runs inthe Diamond Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot.

"I'm not sure if [meeting Frankel] will come off, but I'm quite bullish about it," Moody had told the Australian media in February. "I'm sure there will be plenty of overtures once we get to England and we'll look at them then."
Frankel's trainer Sir Henry Cecil has also said that the Sussex Stakes would be the most probable race for the pair to meet in and Sheikh Fahad believes the two can be tempted into competing.
He said: "In their respective home countries, Frankel and Black Caviar have ignited levels of public interest matched only by true champions of the past. The sport is blessed to have two such outstanding horses competing at the same time and consequently we felt it would be remiss not to make every effort to try to bring about the race everyone wants to see.
"The Sussex Stakes is arguably the only realistic chance of the two horses meeting, and we are delighted to make the gesture of increasing the prize fund to £1m as an incentive to the connections of both horses to run at Goodwood."
