Help

Hi Guys

Could someone please explain to me the set-up in Cape Town. I have noticed that Durbanville racing has very small fields, yet Cape town is one of the bigger centres (trainers and horses) but yet we see Snaith,Kotzen and other raiding PE all the time?

Cape Town trainers prefer golf. Racing far out of town at Durbanville is s-u-c-h a waste of a weekday afternoon. Lol.

Thanx for the thread on page 3 (to far out of town?) somebody should let the Cape town trainers know that PE is a damn side further for the same stake money as at durbanville let alone the expense plus risk to the horse but hey the owners cover those cost.
Maybe they should tranfer those meetings to PE. We will well the oppertunity for extra meetings.

Durbanville racecourse is a very tight course not really suited to a long striding horse,it is also very undulating and a lot of horses have pulled up lame after racing there also generally suited to horses who enjoy racing handy if you are into studying form you will find that some horses love racing there especially in the winter because of the unique straight there as it runs a little downhill

A lot of horses pull up lame there so trainers are a little skeptical about racing.I can assure you that turfies inside track not as tight.Arlington is tight but because they only race once a week and a lot of horses waiting to get a run you will always have big fields

Draw after scratchings will only lead to half the field "not eating up" if badly drawn...not the answer
Give everything but up!

I don't know how much room they have at Durbanville but perhaps a number of the distances could be serviced by shutes giving a bit of sorting time/space before joining the course proper.(The principle that the draw factor at the old Newmarket 1300m)

If anybody is prepared to spend the money,of course?
