Tellytrack appear to be continually changing the format in the hope that they might eventually get the recipe right...............pity that they are far too arrogant and ignorant to do the obvious...........a survey to find out what the majority want!...........what a novel idea.
These self appointed celebrities are a complete pain in the arse and a waste of money.
Comment should be limited to proper analysis by 2 cents and the like, not "from the hip" guessing.
Another thing, is that if jocks or trainers are interviewed,it is the interviewers job to extract their opinion from them..........not to engage in a debate and impose their views as well .....Take Note :Alvin.

And how much is it costing with all these presenters now..honestly that lady from UK who did the Queens Plate and Met knows more about our horses than our own guys..thats just hard work and ability

These presenters are poor. I saw Alvin in a tote once, started to chat to him about why I will not banker a specific 3y old conceding weight to older horses. He said to me "This 3y old carries top weight because the "weight people" know he is a champion and just wanna get a nice price because they know it wont be short with top weight and that's why its carrying top weight".

I walked away and laughed to myself.....

I went to the Big T last night for a while to watch Star Rating run - he really tried his hardest - but all the same managed to get 'beat' by stumbling at the start and then ran around in the race - only a very determined ride by Gavin got him up to share - I was so convinced he got beat I went to the number 2 box - and imo he needs blinkers again to him run straight.

Slighlty more on the topic of this thread, I was against the idea of introducing night racing in downtown Joh'burg (woudl have preferred the money spent on the lights, etc to go towards the establishment of a durable all-weather surface) , so it was the first time ever that I attended a night meeting at Turffies, and I can't quite make up my mind; there were not a lot of people around the 'cheap seats', and also there seemed to be lot of tables available in the venues, but the atmosphere was livened up imo by the lights and by the presentation given by Julie and her guest(s).

I think what many of us are forgetting, is that there is a thin line when it comes to 'what the public wants'. We as rather serious enthusiasts of the game here on ABC (well excluding scotia >:D

i wonder if this flippant approach would sit well on CNBC - We forget that racing is about MONEY not fashion etc - These people are advising you on how to invest your money - They tip scratched horses (like a broker telling you to buy shares in a company that is no longer in existence), they rename horses, are not aware of form updates etc - Racing is a professional sport and the broadcasting side of it need to be professional . I watched a race in the Benoni Tab at about 13h30 today and the volume was turned down so much that i had to use my phone to call for the results so quite frankly the people in the totes are not interested in what the presenters say . How often do you hear a stock broker bragging about a stock he selected? Seems like the presenters(barring a select few) cannot wait to tell the world how clever they are -

I agree and the worst is that there are trainers and jockeys that don't know either, i have stop to count the number of times i have heard a trainer, jockey or presenter say that horse A SHOULD BEAT HORSE B BECAUSE HE /SHE IS A 5 TIMER WINNER AGAINST A TWO TIME WINNER! in a handicap merit rated race, and that is the same people who helps us with their "selections"

No, I do stick with my selections and find 25/1 shots because there is "experts" out there who can not read and understand form and the merit rated system, please note I am not a fundi but I do understand the basis of the merit rated system and that is more than some of the so called "expert presenters " can say.there is one or two of them whose input I value and talk sense but the majority???????

Down in CT for the Sales. Had a guest last night and no runners, so never watched TT. Flew in this am. And have had a few people mention to me throughout the day, that TT was a joke last night, etc.

And having read the posts on this thread, I must say that I am firmly in the camp of Pirates, Oscar and Mr H on this one.

imo too many cooks who cant speak fluently, are not well prepared for their jobs and its like a big party at turffies and all this is being funded by the poor punters who always get the raw end of the deal.they are trying to hard to copy wat they hv seen in overseas productions and sadly they are failing miserably because they dont hv the people to pull it off.on sat they even had a clown on a horse trying to interview jocks at start.i mean seriously was this necessary for gr2 races with only avg jhb horses running?the form of those 2 guineas races will never hold up,good luck to the owners, but i cant see those horses winning in natal against the better 3 yr olds.
