Turf - Saturday
13 years 3 months ago
Couldn't see a thread so as I have a question...
As the market currently stands... 7/10 and on the drift Wyatt West, 22/10 strongly backed Stormy Gold,,, I have a very good price on SG, does anyone have any good knowledge on this race and the two market principals? Is there real confidence behind SG or is it false money etc to get a better price on WW? Would appreciate it if anyone does have some info... lucky punting to all

Thanks Scotia... not sure I should ask the question on that thread though, might get stoned for the horse racing equivalent of blasphemy!

Englander, maybe they will interview Robbie Sage on USO and get a pointer?

My best bets for today
Race 4 - Novices - VIVACIOUS STAR, ignore last run which was a feature, else two previous good runs since post maiden win, Mansour and Lucky in form.
Race 6 - Graduation - FRONTINO GOLD, coughed in the Dingaans, a good 4th to unbeaten Red Barrel since post maiden win, Delpech/de Kock.
Dont forget the carryover Pick 6 today....

I'd give Frontino Gold another chance, but I'd take cover in the exotics. Micky Goss will no doubt bog on me from a dizzy height if he happens to read this, but the form of the Ready To Run Cup looks weaker than the Greek economy to me. Galanthus would be my exotic banker, and if back to her best and with her yard now in form Markofdistinction is a massive threat to Vivacious Star.
Formation is handicapped to kill after her last win courtesy of the plate race rule, but of course 1600m on sand and 2200m on turf are as different as cheddar and chocolate mousse.

Beware that General Sherman appears to be badly handicapped in the 6th,but he performed to a 91? in my book last time and therefo,I regard him as well in.I'm not sure he shouldn't have rather been in a handicap and get the 5.5 kg "unfair advantage"

And General Sherman was running on stgrongly in only his second start and his first around a turn. He could have a lot to come, and must be included in everything. Eurosilver beat him there and ran a shocker next time, but it's probably best not to read too much into that.
