“It is worrying that the affected turf at Clairwood has not satisfactorily responded to treatment as a consequence of the very dry, hot and windy conditions that prevailed for the first three weeks of January and clearly we are going to have to tackle the problem from another direction,” said Racing Director Graeme Hawkins.
Problem only started in January. Does he mean this year.

The saddest aspect of modern racing is how incompetent management treats its customers like idiots, and with dishonesty:
a) Dry hot windy conditions do not cause holes as were shown on Tellytrack.......(my guess is horses galloping,in training, on a surface before it is ready?)
b)Regardless of any earlier weather conditions,a racemeeting was started,on a surface, totally unfit for purpose......that is a different kind of "hot wind"

Chop out a square of grass from somewhere and transplant it on the affected areas.

maybe i'm missing the point ,but if there was better leadership the meeting could have been moved as the condition of the course has been ongoing, just my humble opinion

There was talk about moving the meeting but then we were told it would be ok. Never had any runners so did not take too much notice. One thing I think that those who checked the track and passed it fit to race must take into acccount is that the difference between us walking and prodding around and a horse going flat out on it is huge. They must also not fool themselves and must be honest and not take any chances with horses or jockeys lives.
