pricing of bookmakers licenses

William Hill made around £34 per day per shop profit in 2010
Will see soon what they made in 2011

RSA soccershops makes around R4M profit per year.
As the more punters get access to the net, the profit will drop to the same levels as william hill.
Gauteng will soon release around 100 BEE licenses, KZN will increase theirs and CPT will follow.
Hence by end 2013 history will repeat itself, a license will go for R5K?

Same will happen to the gold price - should be trading at around $600 and not at $1700
Guess we will see the price correction by end 2013.

Bank shares will drop drastically too.
The RSA banks made + R12 billion profit from credit cards during 2011.
That is R1B per month.
The public waste R1B per month on credit card interest - lol

The government will step in and block the sale of credit card products, regulate the interest and by 2013 credit card debt will have to be written off by the banks.

Bank branches will close as all branches must implement finger print recognition starting 2012( check your details real time with department of home affairs) before any transaction can be concluded.

Not going to even enter a debate with you. Your comments about granting new licenses are so far off the mark that its not worthwhile even discussing it. You were not missed while you were away. You continue to post comments that are not backed up by any facts and I just think you are looking for a reaction.

Agree with all future business being done via digital channels using phone, iPad
It cost around 4% of the current cost to offer products via digital channels compared to traditional shops with staff.

Payments in the gaming industry will move away from credit card (like current RSA betfair) due to regulatory laws for gaming and general credit card usage.

We have come a long way since the 80's (6 bookmakers in springs - 2 in nigel etc) to around 100 in gauteng.

We are going to see a quantum leap in digital usage and the traditional business will wither away.

Guess on that basis it does not matter if a 1000 licenses are issued as most if not all gaming will be done via sites such as Betfair?

The financial industry (traders) are also moving towards the same - they now have a concept called BINARY TRADING (All or Nothing) - same as backing a horse to WIN.

By june 2012 all RSA banks will offer a new product.
Any RSA citizen can open an account and nominate the currency in which the money can be kept.
Regulatory law currently specify around €475K that each person can transfer to this account.
From this account international transactions can be conducted.
Such as transfers to and from Betfair.
RSA and UK have a dual tax treaty, hence no tax can be levied on Betfair winnings by the RSA SARS.
Guess this then renders the current gambling acts null and void.
Who will use any other site that does not allow both back and laying of bets.

Guess all current RSA sites will be out of business?
Or until the RSA Gambling board allows both backing and laying on the current sites.
