biggest lay of the season, love the horse but standing him for my max win and place, if he places i break square, if he runs 4th its a babe ruth moment...

Easy - write it off as a learning experience.

What should you have learned from this? NEVER take on champions. But, by all means, lay lesser over-hyped horses whenever the mood takes you.
