what are the options to live racing tv in SAF? only via TV - and that being DSTV? at what cost? tv licence, dstv box, dstv package. I think we're had a thread about this before...

@Alcaponee - thanks for the information pointers - so its 2013 then. Even so, lets say it rolled out next year, I wonder how ready Tellytrack could be for an international audience, the presentation seems to not have changed much from what I can tell from the posts and I've been out of SAF for quite a number of years. HOpefully someone there in the TT production team is watching UK and USA racing and thinking - 'we should be presenting like this!'

Yes rob i understand fully , i would hate to lose the races on dstv, but as a consumer its my right to complain about poor service , and if it means the end of tellytrack and the formation of a new improved racing channel with a fee attached l ll gladly pay, maybe i ll get more winning bets even though i hardly punt,as they say"if you pay peanuts you employ monkeys"so maybe my money will help kick the tellycrap monkeys out

Currently TopTV has 50 or 60 channels, I'm sure they can accommodate a horse racing channel.

All the talk about the future technology is great(scary) but until then perhaps the guy in charge can:
1. Set a standard replay time for local reruns
2. Get his staff to take their jobs seriously.
3. Get his staff to respect the viewers.
4. Send his staff on a basic training course.
5. Get the correct results on screen.
6. Inform his staff that the viewers are customers and not friends that have just popped in for a quick chat and some misinformation.
7. Teach his staff how to turn the Mics off when they are eating/talking off camera etc
8. Teach his staff to prepare for the day's meetings the night before they are on duty and not five mins before the race is due.

I'm sure there are many other things he can change and should have already changed which DO NOT REQUIRE MONEY OR TECHNICAL UPGRADES. It is the constant disrespect for the customer that has caused punters to leave this game. If Phumelela would only realize that the misinformed perception they have that forums represent only a fraction of their customers is not true. The remaining betting public have no voice and their only way to respond to poor service is to find other ways to feed their addiction. Just because you sell a product that is addictive is not an excuse to treat customers like drug infused fools that will accept poor service just to get a fix. Other "dealers"(casinos) are making it far easier to lose your wallet but still enjoy the experience.

I bet that if there was an opposition channel Rutherford and his lot would watch it instead of their own brilliant production -
