IS THERE ACTUALLY ANYONE MANNING THE TELLYTRACK PRODUCERS' DESK?
13 years 5 months ago
This time I am talking from my pocket but please bear with me :
I have to again ask the question which has been posed by many posters before me : Who are the faceless morons running the show at Tellytrack? I am not referring to the studio presenters but rather the individuals 'pressing the buttons' at the producers' desk.
On Sunday they pulled a stunt which was remarkable even by their incompetent and 'viewer unfriendly' standards :
South African racing had finished. There was one last bumper to run at Carlisle whilst Kempton and Turkish (?) racing had started. I say 'started' because the Turks & Italians appear unable to start a race on time under any circumstances.
For some reason I had taken a substantial double ( which I very seldom do because the ante-post prices are substantially lower than the Interbet 'offers' ) on Kempton x Carlisle. Even more astonishingly the Kempton leg had arrived so I was hoping to shout home Richard Johnson aboard the favourite ( yes, Scotia - even I back the occasional favourite at odds on! ) in the last at Carlisle.
Tellytrack thereafter conspired to spoil my party as best they could.
It started off promisingly - they magnanimously granted me a quarter screen ( despite there being no competing events ) with Cyril waffling away about the Kempton PA or somesuch topic. I suppose I should have been grateful for a picture without commentary.
Then they suddenly had a change of heart.
A horse had got loose in Turkey where ( according to Interbet ) fully R2000 had been traded at the time. So the rocket scientists at Tellytrack immediately reduced the Carlisle event back to the smallest possible screen and gifted us the bigger picture of a loose horse gently cantering around a rain soaked all weather track. The relevance being.........?
Happily the story has a happy ending : My double arrived. And I am also fortunate enough to own a 64" TV so even a quarter screen enables me to make out a lot more than most of the other less fortunates out there.
But as an exercise in showing ANYTHING BUT the racing Tellytrack set a new marker for me yesterday evening.

Cousin Floyd let me know that they have new software that will allow them to split the screen in 8 so that we have as much variety as possible going forward.

Garrick, you'll have to upgrade to 3D with Tellytrack's new technology of split screen.

Is it not time to complain to DSTV - this shoddy service is obviously not good for their image

MrH,It appears that DSTV would like any excuse to dispose of Tellytrack,so if we complain, referring to their image, they then cancel the channel, and we don't have live racing.....sh!t that will teach THEM a lesson??????????not.
I suggest we just try to get Tellytrack to up their game!

I am hoping that some of the government bailout money will get used on upgrading their shop window, Tellytrack.
Can you imagine racing in HD. Imagine looking at the horses in the ring and cantering down in HD? We may even be able to find a few more winners!
