Atyeb my best of the day, in the absence of Whiteline Fever. I thought Himalayan Hill could be an e/w tickle (unbeaten over 1600m and drawn wide the last two times), but has she ever run down the Vaal straight?

Magic and Company, when your form has taken a dip (mine has in the last month), you start doubting yourself...(:D, what do you think of Queen Mira in the 8th... I think she is value around 9's ..??

Tough Card today, Greg I have gone with the field in the 8th and Queen Mira must have a chance as she does like the course. I am structuring my PA around horses that are proven on the course and hope for a few outsiders like Thursday.

I am going to be with Super Pursuit again today and has a chance to open up the Pick 6.

My value bet for the day is DJ Detzky, Louis Goosen told us on Summer Cup day that 1400 is his ideal trip. A concern is that he has never run on the course but at long odds is worth a small each way bet.

My Pick 6 today is simple 14 x 1 x F x F x F x F going to take 1% and hope for a few results at the back end of the day. (tu)

Thanks Shrek, both you and Magic fancy Atyeb, at the weights surely Perpetual Song has a chance of turning the tables??.... (Gone with three horses in the 5th...1,2 and 5)

PS. Shrek I can't fault you in the last 4 legs of your p6....:D

Queen Mira is a brass, in my respectful opinion.

Now, watch her win by 10 lengths....:D

Fine by me.(:D Freedom of speech is a great thing....

But she's still up there with Amatol and Al Felon as horses that I avoid tipping like the plague.

U sharp, Shrek ! But, on thurs Jack missed the break AND pulled a front shoe, so it's not like things are exactly "going" for us, right now. Also, this virus thing which is doing the rounds is a worry, because you just dont seem to pick it up readily, before the stress of a race. So, confidence is an issue....But, DJ is very well, working very well at home and there is no evidence of any virus, as of this am.....

Tough day at the Vaal - right way to play could be to take some chances early (but of course if you bomb out then you have to chase to recover later in the day when it gets much tougher imo) - thoughts:

R3: Obvious two are Pristine and Enchanted Guest - but Cherie's Boy did finish in front of EG (when EG was making his debut) and money for Changing Moon which made a fair debut - I think 2 horses at least needed for the PA
R4: Looks a 2 horse race between Emperor's Victory and Super Pursuit - Lady Fan Club has some fair earlier form and could place - but possibly the right race to go short in both the PA and PS
R5: Very interesting race - Atyeb very badly treated at the weights, but should relish the long Vaal straight - Volatile well in on collateral form - but still out at the weights on official ratings - Ibsaar (has beaten Earl de Grey by 10 lenghts before) could prefer this trip and Perpetual Song also not without a chance - lots of people will probably bank the de Kock coupling in the P6 - so it could be an idea to take the field - 6 numbers only
R6 : Open handicap - I make it between the fancied runners - King's Entourage and Game Over - if you look beyond these it gets very tough - Accross the Ice, Emir, Alibaba's Jewel and Assogia Wood probably the main ones to consider after the top 2
R7: Getting more difficult as we go along - Tandragee has a big weight for a 3yr old imo - Jet Dot Com still seems reasonably handicapped and has won 3 times over the straight Vaal course, so has a definite chance imo - not much between JDC and Beat the Odds on their latest run, so BtO must rate a chances as well - Leprechorn's Gift runs well this trip - pay your money and take your pick
R8: I looked at the form quite closely and imo if Louvre puts her best foot forward she is the right one here - I was really big on Queen Mira last time, but she ran a very poor race - but I think the cut in the ground will help her and she is my 2nd choice - then I'm not sure what to make of Night Jasmine - she can upset off a light weight - safest one for the PA probably Lizzie Arden
R9: Toughest race on the card imo - at least 10 of the 14 runners have some sort of chance - go as wide as possible

Play well - though it is a slightly easier card than Thursday imo - all exotics sure to pay well again imo
