Horse racing in Israel

Apparently hoseracing (including breeding operations) and other gambling (I hate this word) is about to enter Israel.

Animal activists have sent letters to an Israeli minister demanding that she prevents horse racing in Israel. These activists say horse racing is riddled with greed and cruelty and furthermore there is a lack of water, land availability and animal rights laws. Again, overproduction, abandonment and slaughtering is mentioned.

And some businessmen say racing is doomed for failure as Israeli's are not racing people.

There is a racecourse partially built in Gilboa.

I see the race cards are the same only difference is the "C" and "G" after the horses name instead of Colt and Geldings it's for Circumcised or Gelded...........hehe!

If this actually comes to fruition, this could elevate the accounting profession in terms of stature, because veterinarians would take over the position currently held by accounts as the butt of all Jewish mother jokes, as in "I have three sons. The smart ones are the doctor and the lawyer. The other one is an accountant."
