I'm aware of that pirates as I was on Bravura when he beat Noordhoek, all I'm saying is DJ will not do much if he follows the path of NH express in kzn as desired by Rolands Song because he only won the KRA Guineas in Kzn that season, if that makes sense

Potala Palace's aim has always been Dingaans followed by the Gauteng Triple Crown next year, Cape Town not on his program.

Interesting debate this - Dean Kannemeyer said before Saturday that he had a reason for running Alula Borealis? in the Green Point - as he would then 'know exactly where I stand' - hard to know what he meant but I suspect that AB is not quite in the league of his other bombs - still he finished only 4 lengths off Bravura at unfavorable weight terms - so those other ones must be pretty good imo

Merhee won really well the other night and I think he is going to be hard to beat in the Dingaans - not sure if the draw has come out yet?

I really think that the only person who thinks Potala Palace is a champion is Mike Azzie. The form of his Grade 1 win in Natal has not held up and had Strydom got a run sooner on the runner up last time he would have won. Let us not forget that Eurosilver had a rating of 84 and was returning from a 5 month rest. Azzie likes to use Mohammed Ali quotes however Ali had the record to back up his big mouth.

I cannot see Potala winning this Saturday even in a very weak Dingaans field. Hopefully we will then be able to avoid the tears and other crap that comes out of Azzie's mouth.

I also think Polata Palace will take a lot of beating. Merhee I feel might have been a liitle rushed to qualify and get ready for this race. I have no doubt Merhee will go on to bigger and better things. I really liked the last run of Mushreq who wasn't given more than an exercise gallop when running on strongly, I believe this could be the right one out of the De Kock yard. It is going to be an interesting race and I think both 3yo miles will be very closely contested.

I agree that Potala Palace and Divine Jet are two different, but equally impressive kettles of fish, but for what it's worth, IMHO Divine Jet is a machine. Write him off at your peril.

I missed the race so cannot comment on DJ ... but I am with Harris as regards Potala Palace . I don't think he is as good as madeout to be. BUT reading this thread makes me smile, cos this is what racing is all about... every year the same type of debate rages on about the top 3 year olds from different yards and provinces.... gotta love it >:D<
