Tote open betting for Summer Cup -wednesday

The countdown to the R2-million Sansui Summer Cup to be run at Turffontein on Saturday 26 November has started and TAB is delighted to announce that tote betting on the event opens today 16 November.
“This is the first time in history that TAB betting for a major race has opened more than a week before the event,” said Phumelela Sports Betting Executive Vee Moodley.
TAB customers can take an All To Come on any race meeting from today 16 November until Friday 25 November (excluding France, Italy, Macau, Sweden and Turkey) and make the last selection either a Win or Place bet on a horse of their choice in the Summer Cup.
For example a TAB customer can take an All To Come comprising a Win bet on Race 3 and a Place bet on Race 7 at the Vaal tomorrow with the third and final selection being a Win or Place bet on a runner in the Summer Cup.
The All To Come bet form must be filled out in the normal way except utilise the FUTURE OPTION 1 section at the bottom of the form to indicate your choice in the Cup and whether a Win or Place bet is being selected.
Please note that the FUTURE OPTION 1 must only be used to mark a Summer Cup selection until Friday 25 November. On the day of the race the All To Come form must be filled in as normal.
And in another first for TAB betting on the Summer Cup, horseplayers who bet a TAB Place on this year’s race will collect if their selection finishes in the first six.
“This is a special TAB feature for major races like the Summer Cup and we are expecting a huge pool. We paid six places for the first time with the Durban July this year and it was a big hit with our customers,” said Moodley.
TAB will pay six places if there are 17 or more runners. If 16 or less run, normal. TAB place rules will apply.
