Thank God for modern technology ie. television...people like Oom Piet from the tote are able to decipher the good jockeys from the bad ones. Those that have a lot to lose will always profess that it is impossible for jockeys to hold back a horse from winning....fcuken palooka!

I never said that it's impossible to hold back a horse. I said that you make allegations of it that you cannot back up. Wth due respect to Oom Piet, any idiot can be a punter for 50 years and still know next to nothing about horses.

And anyone who thinks the game is completely bent and still punts is the palooka, not me.<

Some football players are so good at faking injury to get penalty and they are often deceive or fool those professional referee. Similarly, some jockeys have mastered the art of holding back horses that the so called experts in racing are fooled.

The more you highlight suspect riding you can eradicate the dishonest jocks.

IMO Magiclips I think you an idiot to say Oom Piet is an idiot without meeting the man.

I never said fradd is guilty,I'm just wondering why the thread was deleted ?libel action against the site maybe ?

I never said Oom Piet is an idiot. I said any idiot can put money on a horse. Trust me, I've known a few, including a Tellytrack presenter who once called a horse's hocks its ankles, on air. These people make rash judgements from their pockets with nothing to back them up and yet they are so "clued up" that they don't even understand basic equine anatomy. What chance have they got of grasping the ins and outs of working with horses day in and day out? Maybe they should leave the betting shop once in a while and actually spend some time with trainers, jockeys, breeders, vets, etc. They might learn - at last - that riding horses is not like pushing buttons.

Maybe Oom Piet understands all this and more, but there's plenty like him who have no bloody clue.

I like soodum was also wondering about that topic and why the other thread had been removed.

Here are a few things to ponder...

1. According to newspaper reports from Asia RF was charged in Hong Kong from "preventing his mount from running to the best of its ability". After a lenthy trial he was found not guilty, however the court "denied legal costs because his actions brought heavy suspicion on him". Mmmmmm

2. The Singapore Turf Club charged RF with "not riding his mount with sufficient vigour and determination". He pleaded guilty and was suspended for 3 months during 2011.

Iam told that racing in both Hong Kong is very well managed its not everyday they charge someone for cheating.

Based on the above every owner, trainer, punter and the authorities should be concerned about RF's return to race riding in SA.

Correct FC,why would a jock leave the big money stakes of hong kong and singapore to come race for peanuts

Because our regulation is very lenient by comparison???

Many of our jocks,who have never had problems here,have had problems elsewhere ie.Hong Kong,Singapore,Mauritius etc

Michael Jackson was also aquitted of charges, if he was still alive how many of you would let dear mike come over and babysit your kids while you and the missus went to the movies and to the casino for a few hours?

No logic in the world could make sense of Robbie Fradd "taking on" a stable which is providing him with,what I would imagine,would be one of the best jobs in SA Racing ie. stable jock to Tarry/van Niekerk.
I have no doubt whatsoever that he is riding to instructions whenever and wherever it is humanly possible.......anything less would be crazy!

The stable has had some form reversals ,but to focus all blame on Fradd makes no sense to me whatsoever....it has no logic!
