Noticed the other day when going over the Andrew Fortune ride that Richard Fourie was very hard on the winner hitting it 10-12 times in the last 300m.

Then when watching Race7 at Fairview yesterday (had backed Fancy Park) that Fourie used the whip 13 or 14 times in the last 150- 200m,the last 3 or 4 cracks giving the horse no time to respond.Race Replay

This is no witch hunt against RF just happen to have noticed him..whats your opinion?

Must be Bob work rider that won the first 3 races at the Vaal got an immediate ban, I thought that was strange as don't they normally have it done after an inquiry ?

I read Hannigan and DeSousa also gotba ban but only takes effect after flat season ends so Hannigan still 1/8 to lift title, plus I am sure De Sousa going to Melbourne Cup

There is a rule that you are not to hit the horse stride for stride like the jocks do in Aussie. You can give the horse a smack then show the stick for a stride or two and then smack again and so on and so forth. It would be up to the stipes discretion to count and then decide what action to be taken agaist the jockey. The whips and flaps they use today are very soft on the horses
