This lowly listed race has been won by July winners namely Big City Life beating Lizards Desire (shd defeat in the world richest race) with Rushing Wind 3rd. Bold Silvano won the following year beating Robert the Bruce who ran 3rd in the Cape Derby behind Bravura. Run For It won the race last year who ran 3rd in the J&B this year. Hardly a slouch Race.

Not the point.....did any of those connections demand a better write-up?

Best Listed race in the country, with the possible exception of the Met day juvenile race, with a more impressive roll of honour in recent seasons than many Graded races for the same age group. Changingoftheguard will also go on to better things. He will relish more ground, he wasn't really fully wound up for this race, and he is a smashing individual. It's not hard to see why he cost R600k despite being by a first season sire.

This could be the Derby horse that everyone's trying to find. I know that the Sporting Post didn't either preview or review the race because it is only a Listed (the venue is irrelevant), but when I write a preview of any race I always give every runner a mention, even if it's only to say that it's got absolutely no chance. I don't do this for the sake of the connections, but for the sake of any poor soul who looks to my scribblings for some sort of guidance.:D

That of course is hindsight.....without that benefit,he was not well handicapped so a handicapper was entitled to predict the result lay elsewhere.
I have raced for many years and never have I seen this demand for recognition.....as someone pointed out on a thread some time ago......Thank goodness God doesn't think he's Barry Irwin

(It isn't the "poor Souls" who are objecting....lol)

Ask Barry to pay for the coverage Hibs - Perhaps he could also pay for a spot on Tabonline and then write the stories for Nikki ?

The point I am trying to make is that it is one thing to lack professionalism, but yet another thing to be so blatant about it.

Team Valor doesn't lack for publicity. That is hardly my point.

How do these racing association expect to gain support from the participants of racing if they are so bloody blatant in playing favorites like they do?

And how lame are the higher ups in these places that crap like this continues unabated.

Rob even if Changingoftheguard is out at the weights, and as you suggest it is forgivable to Brass the Horse?
Then surely that would be all the more reason to mention it, after all it was the AP Fav.:)-D

It would be better for Punters to know that the so called Tipsters, do not like the chances of a Horse that is high up in the betting imo.

Barry it just goes to show that the operators media machine have a certain distaste for any person that uses alternative media like this and other similar websites. Bitching here will never get you brownie points with them, no matter how much money you have invested here you are just another anti-establishment joe. So welcome to the club.
