Morning bloodshot
Please indicate why you feel so confident about this horse? i actually think 5 horses can win this..
Miravar
Summer Sari
Mizzen Mist
maybe the first timer Bad Romance
and then your pick Shadows In The Sun
..That's alot of posibilities..

Lovely day in Johannesburg - with some nice competitive racing; thoughts:
R1: Pass
R2: Got to respect the 'rumours' on Shadows in the Sun - few others with chances - my eachway selection is Pearl Rush - may have needed her last run where she finished less than 4 lengths behind All in the Mind - who won her next start by almost 4 lengths
R3: Defeat the Desert very impressive maiden win - besides beating S'ilvous Plait easily, even the 4th horse Eugenes was beaten 11 lenghts by DtD and then came out to win his next race by almost 3 lengths and has since won again; but that was over 1800 and DtD has been off the track for 5 months - so who knows? Beyond the Limits also ran well after a rest last time beating Mini Black who won on on Tuesday night and only a little more than 2 lenghts behind Massimiliano who ran well behind the classy Kavanagh on Tuesday night. BtL is drawn very wide, but Striker should overcome that; Coco Stripes has run 2 good runs since a rest and is going into my PA
R4: Earl de Grey surely too good here
R5: Very open fillies and mares handicap - eachway selection for me is Golden Handshake, who is yet to finish out of the money over this trip; Mother's Eyes and Nikki T from in form stables are obvious inclusions; for some value consider Victory Garden (backed last time and Delpech rides from a good draw), Ubuhle and Shuffles (who both could surprise off marks lower than their sand MR's)
R6: Jet Jamboree sure to go close; Gold Onyx (one of the bets of the year last time in a graduation plate) is very capable and could provide JJ with competition - Bulsara should improve to place over this trip.
R7: Filles and mares handicap again - Simply Blue has the plum draw and is my each way selection - not much between her and Europa Point on their run behind Stormy Coast where SB was drawn wide; Sacred Feminine won over this trip last time and has an obvious chance again, while Danish is improving after a rest and must rate some sort of chance as well
R8: Another fillies and mares handicap, but over 1000; Lady Beatrix ran very well behind Poppins in her pinultimate start, and should go close here; Polish Lady and Flame Fighter have obvious claims - for places consider a real roughie in the lightly raced Azanian Magic
R9: Yet another fillies and mares handicap, Paschal Moon only got 2 points for winning her last race and may prove even better at this track; Coastal Cabaret has been running consistently recently and should place again Penthouse Mouse has a nice draw and comes from an in-form stable so must rate a chance as well; for value consider Mother Superior (who won very easily last time) and Aztec Gold (who on indirect from behind Go Indigo could finsh in front of Coastal Caberet)
In summary, a few races where one could probably get away with one or two runners, but the rest looks competitve - play well

Hi Guys and Gals
Have a super Saturday of racing!!! Good fortune to punters and all the best to owners:)-D
I went for Royal Arrow ahead of Jet Jamboree, simply because I do not believe Striker can ride a horse honestly. I put him in the same class as mr Fortune. So I rather lose money, than back him or banker him!
I also think Shadows in the Sun will win and took the double with Earl de Gray

Look at the work rider. Forced 5 wide around the top turn, never panicked and came home lonely. How many times do top jocks "run wide" and then run out the back door, favorites, long shots ect......Good on you Makubo! Showed them how to ride a horse today!!

Imo Crown Heights was just in a different league and won despite an indifferent ride

Frodo, you are right, but not an indifferent ride imo. Think he rode as well as he was allowed to. The race was weak and he could have won with Molly riding him, but he still did a fantastic job. Too many jocks give up once they run wide....it happens daily!

Likes the track and is super fit. Not drawn well though. Stick with your original selection of Victor Ivo!

Hi Haupie
I have to agree with you about P Strydom. Not a honest jockey and also have a attitude that cost him a jockey/trainer relationship with M de Kock years ago.
P Strydom likes to win from behind and doesn't fit with me, just my personal opinion. I always ask why hold the horse back if it wants to run?
