pirates gives the rule above. Be a shame if Molly knew and did nothing. It's only fair to presume that he didn't know.

i think the point it this was a plated race. If the horse had a rating of above 76 then it would be the best weighted horse in the race, coming in as a 4 yr old carrying 55.

I was just told (pending confirmation) that it had a rating of 100.

The Matchett yard must be smiling from here to the bank while screwing everyone else in the process. In Sheer Courage's last run in Dubai it ran off a 100 merit rating which means off this mark it was the best weighted horse in the race by 16 points. Even off a 90 mark would have been very well in at the weights. As the rules quoted earlier if it is the trainer's responsibility to disclose this information, Matchett should be in for the high jump but we all know with our useless officials there will be no action taken. In SA horse racing you can get away with murder and that is why things like this keep happening.
