4 meetings in 9 days on vaal outside track
13 years 8 months ago
according to my maths vaal outside track will be holding 4 meetings in 9 days and one has to ask the question how bright an idea is this cos the track looks like dogshit...anything wrong with the inside track on the vaal? and you got to feel for trainers that have horses looking for the turn as all the races are up the straight....maybe titch can answer the questions

I also feel sorry for owners/trainers with stayers, by my calculation we havn't seen a race over 2000m on the highveld for 3/4 weeks...:

There are areas of that track that have no grass cover at all.....kickback on thurs.was as bad as the sandtrack.

Greg, racing authorities in SA must be on a par with our Soccer counterparts. Allowing raced horses to run as debutants, track disasters. Fortunately they didn't abandone the meeting like certain jocks wanted them to as Danger Point needs a run not that he will get a cheque. That is why I probably bet 90% on Sport and 10% on Racing a few years ago it was more 50-50.

Wonbyamile, got 7 horses at the moment, Gilmore Girl, Danger Point and Espectro of the raced horses and 2 unraced 3 year olds and 2 x 2 year olds. Yes it is costly and with stakes getting smaller and training fees and related cost getting higher it makes you wonder sometimes.
