Thanks Jack. Not sure whether the gambling board is the correct body to be ruling on the CPA though?

Hi, I am also very close to naming and shaming the same company......

2 Weeks ago I had a jockey matchbet.....Lerena to beat.Mienie.(which Lerena won).I looked at my account only to see it was marked as a looser. After giving them proof and about 10 emails, they eventually apologised and said my acct would be credited. This was 13 days ago and as at 11.15 am this morning still no credit.....after about another 10 emails and promises every time!!!!!!!!!!!.

Problem no 2.. At Folkestone on the 18/08/11 I caught a st forecast and tricast. This winning bet has been in the '"Open bets " section since that date, showing as a winner. After about 25 emails to and fro and them admitting their error, and promising to credit acct , it still remains unresolved.

With both the above cases THEY have admitted errors and to make matters worse I receive emails saying my account has been credited!!!!!!!!!

I thought that this was an efficient British run company, but alas NO......:X Please punters check all your bets are settled correctly. Also make sure that matchbets are settled as per the official results, as I have had on other ocassions also had to p[oint out errors in this regard....

IS THERE ANYBODY OUT THERE AT SPORTINGBET THAT CAN HELP ME......................

Rest assured you won't be the only complaint she will have received about them.

Hi Rob
The GB is the keeper of the rule book that governs the bookmakers.
The CPA has issued the minimum conditions that any consumer must be entitled to.
I think our clansman is pointing out to the gambling board that they have to adjust their rules (upwards) to the lowest standard the consumer protection act will allow.

Wouldn't it be nice if we got slightly better than the lowest f'@&£ standard though?

Having said that, my dispute with the fixed odds company has been resolved, they apologised profusely, paid up and are happy to go forward. I did tell them I was concerned that the limits automatically generated each time I have a bet looked a little personal to me, but they assured me it was across the board and determined by the market. We shall see soon enough. I am concerned though that my balance is more than 20x bigger than the limit allowed on my most recent bet, that doesn't sound right, does it?

i have taken a bet and changed my mind to the horse i want to back. I asked to change my ticket and "they are not allowed to" was the answer to me.....this was at Bettingworld.....it was a R40 or R50 win bet

normally i am at up at arms with marshalls....but in this instance..common sense prevailed.....i backed a horse about 30 seconds before the off..(just forgot the name of the horse)...but the clerk laid me the bet for a different race (there were 2 horses with the same name on the day of racing..one was much later in the day in overseas....i didnt even know there was another horse carded with the same name....and i didn't even check my ticket.....but i would have realized ,had i taken the price...but i took sp"s wins instead.....and the horse won....when i went to collect it said not a winning ticket....but all credit to marshalls management...they knew the intent was to back that particular race...and i was expecting them ,just to give me my stake back...but they changed my ticket (after the race) and paid me out accordingly

After 1 week of punting with Marshalls they cut my limits for Starting Price Runners. Couldnt get R3000 off a horse. Hollywood reigns supreme.

Uhm if you punting at their premises it could be different, never had a problem with them when I was punting in Amanzimtoti (Toti). I registered an account on the internet, deposited R 500 and was up about R 10 000. Withdrew the cash personally at their branch which was R 4000. Later on that day I was trying to wager R 400 SP on a horse but the bet saying limit reached. The horse at that time was around 8/1.
