Lot 484, Craig. Had faults, and her sire Tobe Or Nottobe has not yet fired, but there was something about her that kept catching my eye.

Congrats Magic on your excellent cheap buy, the champ-in-waiting Boerewors Roll ... Move over Laff, with your MacDonald's Farm ... we now have the lastest wave of naming fashion, the Edibles. How about Potjiekos, Salami Pizza and Justlikemamadeit? For myself, I'd fancy calling mine Lemon Meringue, or maybe Applepie. Or Boontjiesop.

Must be this unrelenting cold weather, making me think of food.

Frodo picked up lot 303 for 50G, was nearly sold to him for 40, but had final say at 50.
Frodo I sure hope he can run Half as well as Assylum Seeker mate - you've persuaded me to take a leg in this one.

Well I think he went for a little too much - but I had the feeling at 45G that one more bid would do it, and so it proved - Daylami still a bit underexposed in SA imo, and the cross produced a stakes placed juvenile in Cape Town last season - so I think at the price worth the risk. Not even thinking in comparisons to Asylum, this one probably a stayer, so patience will be required imo

All the best to those who took the plunge - 'it's only money' and 'you only live once' and all those others cliches won the day

Yes we were pleased with lot 130. Lowan bid on our behalf. We were surprised that it went for that price. Mrs Slack said after the sale that we stole the horse at that price.
