USA vs AUSSIE imports

Over the last 7 years Aussie dollar has appreciated quite significantly against the rand and the dollar making the Aussie horsies quite expensive.
Are the big owners looking at USA rather than AUS now that the USA currency is SO weak.

I'd guess there are two problems with that idea. My guess is that US horses are very expensive, regardless of the exchange rate, and they're bred at a different time of the year. I think that means they would race under sufferance, like the UK imports do. It probably doesn't help that they breed for dirt racing either, I guess.
