Challenging card at Turffies today where a headwind is expected (according to Tabgold) - so the firmer going should favor front running tactics, but with the headwind it's going to be a guessing game again - we are used to it by now; after the debacle on Thursday my funds are a bit depleted (to say the least), but what the hell let's give it a go anyway:
I fancy 2 horses today, Moon of Rangoon in the 6th and Forestation in the 8th; Moon of Rangoon is a 2 yr old in a MR handicap, so is theoretically weighted correctly; I just think his 3rd against Straw Market makes him much better than the moderate opposition he faces here. Forestation needed his last run and is going to improve from that; he has run well enough in strong company, the stable is in form and he jumps from the best draw.
Also Kinematic Countess should go close, but there has been money for Jolly Along.
For the rest, Torman will not get an easier task to get that maiden under the belt (Variety Type now a scratching); for some longer priced runners consider Captain's Key who is probably going to blitz off to the front with no weight on his back and could stay on to place. The 7th race looks very tough; in the 9th consider Cartwheel (he beat MJ Thriller - a winner since - very easily in his penultimate so could surprise from a good draw in a weak field) and King Bling who gets blinkers and a tongue tie; he could need more ground, but may improve to place in this field.
PA:
3,8 (Edited to include the
1
1,7,8,9
3,8
1,5,6,7,8
4,8
2
P6:
1,3,12
1,3,7,8,11,12
8,
1,2,5,7,8,11,13
4
2,3,8,9,10,12,15
Play well

Turfontein's Conditions - Captain's Key, favourable weight differential, in form Azzie, barring his last has raced against some hot stuff, I think good value
