Take that you rotter
13 years 11 months agoFor 300 years, it has been the highlight of the summer calendar for the well-off and well-connected.
But these days, it seems, the enclosures and stands of Royal Ascot are becoming increasingly popular with a much less distinguished breed of racegoer.
As the Queen’s favourite racing event celebrates its tricentenary, fights have been breaking out amongst the male racegoers at the historic Berkshire course, watched by worse for wear women who can barely stay upright in their high heels.
A quick glance across the terraces reveals a sea of flesh and unsightly tattoos – of women in cheap, tawdry dresses and men who have shunned the expected top hat. Read More

Hibs went to Royal Ascot on the Friday 8 years ago. My wife couldn't believe all the woman dressed to the nines with big hats drinking champagne straight out the bottle. By the end of the day several racegoers both guys and girls needed assistance to get where they needed to go.

Typical English lower class scum. You cannot take them anywhere where alcohol is been served because after the consumption of a few beers then they are all invincible. Every weekend of the year this can be seen in every city and town.

This is a fact. My first July experience I noted how many little tossers were pissed and passed out alongside the track. This was also the year that the bouncer was shot and killed at one of the after parties on course. Many a discussion on this forum re that tragedy. The July is an event on the social calendar rather than a racing event. I would bet that the conversion from once a year Mug Punter to a more regular Mug Punter is quite small.
The 13th race or naked race pretty much says it all as far as the July is concerned.

Has any filly ever contested the 13th race, and if so was she well turned out?
Normally the colts that become geldings after the race carry to much condition and stumble during the race lol

In fact, this was also the year where there was a scuffle of sorts in the parade ring. Connections of Dynamite Mike pissed off at the bumping of their horse by either Successful Bidder or Buy and Sell. I think it was Brett on Successful Bidder if I am not mistaken.

Seemingly the brawl started because one racegoer said "your wife looks like cher" and somebody chipped in with "yes shergar"
