does anybody know how many night meetings are held in gauteng every year?it cant be more than 15 tops so the lights imo was an absolute waste of money

Why they still program a night meeting this time of the year is mind-boggling - I think the attendance will drop from the normal 200 people to 50 - and that includes the people on duty like trainers, stewards, presenters, etc. I can't see how anyone can justify the money spent on the lights at Turffontein - it can never be the shining light og Gauteng racing - as we all know the location is all wrong and the rubbish dump just keeps on growing......

On a different but related (in a lateral thinking sort of way) matter, I believe they have started with the 'installation' of the poly training track at Randjies - at last a small step forward imo

The smell from the dump is atrocious, i remember many of the international jocks pulling horrible faces once they got a whiff while the national anthems were playing at the last international meeting. it is really embarassing .. i mean where else in the world!!!

something needs to be done, i remember taking my girlfriend and a few other newcomers to Turffontein and the first thing they said once they were at the parade ring was ''OMG what is that smell?''
