Good afternoon to the Clan and what a great result in the Kentucky Derby for Barry Irwin and his team Valor .....Kentucky Derby

Next race will be the Preakness at Pimlico Sat 21 st May (the second leg of the triple crown) the last leg is the Belmont.

could we have a triple crown winner?

Update from overseas since last week, not many changes however Dick Turpin could go for the Lockinge and take on Canford Hills on the 14th May.

21st May Overdose priced up fav for the Temple Stakes at Haydock.

22nd of May, we had an email from Debbie Hawkins from Singapore where she says all the talk is about Rocket Man for the KrisFlyer before he heads of to the UK. Singapore Knowledge

3rd June where 1000gns winner Blue Bunting has gone 5/2 for the Oaks and Derby on the 4th now wide open with 5/1 jt favs World

Domination and Carlton House, they will probably clash in the Dante on the 12th May and give us an indication who might end up Derby fav?
Incidentally you might see St Nicholas Abbey after his great win run in the Coronation Cup on Oaks day.

Royal Ascot not many changes however Goldikova might clash with Canford Cliffs in the Queen Anne and don't forget if you are lucky to be at Ascot between the 14th and 18th of June you could well see Frankel, Overdose, Rocket Man, So You Think etc.

Frankel heading to Ascot

The ARC is always a great race Oct 2nd So You Think and Workforce still top the boards at around 6/1 but St Nicholas Abbey back in the betting at 14/1 and Frankel easy to back at 20/1, sure to be a great race.

Had a fun weekend, went to the Indian restaurant for Mothers Day and they had a special on Pelican curry, always ready to try something different, it tasted ok but the bill was enormous.

Was at the Afrikaans pub on the Friday night and will try and translate and tone down what happened, but this rather large lass jumps on a table and shouts "if anyone can guess my weight they can take me home and make love to me", this big Dutchman shouts back 200 kilos you fat ugly bitch and she replies "that is close enough you lucky bastard".

Just before I sign off, I saw a ghost last night she looked just like Gloria Gaynor!

At first I was afraid...............

Then I was petrified.

Good punting and may your God be with you

scotia.

Canford Cliffs 8-10 to lift Lockinge on Saturday

Main danger to Canford Cliffs 9/2 according to the betting is his own stablemate Dick Turpin, who also featured among the 11 remaining entries at Monday's forfeit stage.

I"I would rather keep them apart, and if I had my way we would save Dick Turpin for the Prix d'Ispahan in France on Sunday week, but John Manley, the colts's owner, justifiably makes the point that Dick has met Canford Cliffs three times and come out on top twice and I know that he is keen to run at Newbury."

Twice Over, narrowly beaten by Virtual and Alexandros in the 2009 Lockinge, could have his first outing since flopping in the Dubai World Cup and is 8-1 third favourite for the race.

Animal Kingdom, in the weekly poll of turf writers, was the unanimous choice among the panel of 19. He was 11th the week before.
