R8 silver specialist.......... we are drawn in the grandstand, but if he's midfield turning for home we got a chance to run a place. A win would be a BIG bonus from that draw, plus 1450 a bit on the short side for him - he needs 1600 - 1800 Plus a good draw..... to get all this together - NIEGH IMPOSSIBLE.
good racing guys.

Very competitve racing on the sand today at the Vaal; shortest favorite on the card at 16/10 in the 3rd, followed by 5/2 in race 8 - it's not going to be easy, but I think the rewards will be good if one's crystal ball is in good working order; thoughts:
R2: Fillies and mares handicap to start the PA - many with chances - even Zie Zie Gabor could place at the weights - load up
R3: Looks one of the easier races on the card and should lie between Muscle Man and Dallas Dancer (Tripple Seven being unproven on the sand); but any of the others trying the sand for the first time could suddenly improve
R4: Competitive handicap where I think Speed Keeper will prefer this trip and should go close; Wood Be should be setting the pace and can hang on for a place with The White Horse (better shorter?), Fun to Run and King's Destiny also not out of it
R5: Another fillies and mares handicap over a sprint and again quite a few with chances; top 4 for me are Rebecca Sharp (if she does not suffer from breathing problems again), Oochee Agent, Blingle Bells and Dixie Lass
R6: Very nice feature race where Sayadaw is best in and also runs over the ideal trip for him; Emir ran a cracking race last time and has some of the others stone cold at the weights, but there could be some doubts about him getting the extra 150m; Burmese Cat has a chance if getting the trip; Mystic is also ideally suited to the trip and could feature at big odds while the Woodruff coupling must be included in the P6
R7: The scratchings of Fisani and Bella Jet makes this race a bit easier; but there are still quite a few with chances - Xilomante likes this trip and has a pull at the weights this time with Swan Neck; Ugly Betty is well in and could feature with Raise the Bar if they get the trip while Laughing River is not out of it.
R8: Rampant Jet the best bet on the card imo - he is a lightly raced 4 year old with solid form and has beaten Cuve (who subsequently beat Silver Specialist easily) by 4.5 lengths in the maidens and receives weight from the year younger SS today; Enza Plan also likes this trip and could be second best.
Play well - and break a leg Elvis(tu)
