Scotia on the Easter weekend
14 years 1 month ago
Good morning to the Clan and hope you are looking forward to a good long Easter weekend.
Mrs S has booked us at the Midlands Meander just a bit concerned driving over the Easter period.
Racing has been a bit washed out the last few days, but look forward to brighter times ahead.
Frankel is he the real deal?
Frankel did not disappoint and hope the shrewdies have been taking the evens over the last month for the 2000 gns as its all gone now and 6/10 (4/10 on the day predicted) maybe just consider the 11/2 still on offer for the Derby. Note that Frankel's stable companion World Domination also won well on Sat. and is 7/1 the stable jockey was impressed?
The Guineas is on the 30th April so will be a big day for racing as we have the Champion Challenge, Derby, Oaks, Computaform etc at the Big T. Still waiting for some early prices from the bookies but all indications are that the Pick 6 could be very easy (famous last words). Final fields are now on the site, Dancewiththedevil, What a Winter and Igugu should be the bankers? Plus Frankel for a 4 horse ATC.
What a Winter should be a banker on the big day
The 1000gns is on the Sunday but looks very open with Havant still a very weak fav at 6/1.
Uncle Mo after many rumours remains at 7/1 for the Kentucky Derby and Dialed In still 9/2 fav in what should also be an open affair.
Well done to the bookies for the early July betting even without MDK nominations, plenty views on this subject but here is mine:
"I am a big fan of early and ante-post markets.
If I wish to have a bet on Big Bucks now to win the World Hurdle at Cheltenham "next March" 2012, I can have 12/10 and if it runs should be 5/10. When do you think the nominations are? Will it run, will the horse still be in training?
If you don't want to play Igugu don't play, if you think there is more value on Dancewiththedevil at 12/1 have a bet, because without Igugu it will be much shorter, if Igugu runs will be 2/1, so take 5/1 now, its your choice.
We are again waiting for a show of betting for the 30th, Champion Challenge, Derby, Oaks, Computaform with just over a week to go! At least the JULY generates this hype and interest and if the lads up North want to get the same advanced interest, I would suggest they price up early"
Other views from the site.
July Betting..
Sales another hot topic with excellent contributions.
Don't forget the Charity Turf Challenge.
Our competitions.
Winning Ways, entertaining guest.
American Idols still a hot topic
Rocket Ronnie 5/1
World snooker championship under way and maybe Ronnie OSullivan 5/1 is the way to go.
Rugby where Crusaders have gone money-on, the Reds have moved to joint second favs with the Stormers around 7/1.
You are aware I am a favourite punter but as highlighted on earlier posts I could not resist on having a bit 16/1 on Schalke for the Champions League! I have based it on that Man Utd might be on a bit off a low after the loss to Man City and having many pressure games in the League, which I am sure they will win(1/5). As far as the glamour game Barcelona vs Real Madrid, the time these 2 have finished playing each other over the next few weeks they could well feel like Ali/Fraiser and punched out, so based on the fact that Schalke did manage to put away 5 goals against Inter (an Italian side) away from home the price was worth a nibble.
I will also take Stoke for the Cup.
Just watched the Spurs 3 Arsenal 3 game and what a cracker. Man U 1/5, Chelsea 7/1 and the Gunners 14/1.
Have to say once again thank you for the numerous contributions to the site and look forward to the many "voyeurs" also having their say.
Its only a week to the Royal Wedding and managed to get a copy of the dress rehearsal
Royal Wedding Rehearsal
Have a great weekend and be safe, except with gambling
good punting

Mrs S is driving punter but at least we are not taking the team bus, where after Real Madrid lifted the Cup, they dropped it under the bus!
Classic!
