I think Count Express is very well in at the weights, but the distance is obviously the question mark.

Personally for me it is just a race to watch, not get involved in!

Villandry is 9.5kg better off with Magico in the Cape Flyer... Has to find 4 lengths but not without a chance imo.

Villandry has been very disapointing, with the appy claiming 4 kg's, I think the instructions might be to try and run them off their feet from the start - for me he needs to show some improvement before I can follow him - Count Express has been running on from behind over 1160 and 1200, so the 1000 on fast ground may be too quick for him - Magico hard to beat imo

I could be setting myself up for yet another face-meet-egg session, but I wouldn't touch the 800m specialist La Volta with a very long pole until she shows she has learned how to settle in her races.

Magico looks the obvious best bet unless Villandry suddenly comes alive, but Villandry gives every sign of having been one of those crack 2yos that simply hasn't trained on. Polar Moon should be cherry ripe now and is running over a suitable distance. I think Boeing Boeing could be above average and make him the one to beat again, while Polish Girl has the form to win the last but I can see real improvement coming from Sportsgirl.

Close second to Kapil and close third to Blue Tiger on a 2KG weight difference although sometime ago, puts Villandry in with a very real chance of winning, if ready IMO.

I will be with Greg and Villandry in this race - I just hope its not a prep for something else. (Not Something Else the sprinting horse, something else - another race).

A nice card for a Thursday at the Vaal; I think after the mayhem on Tuesday we are going to see the fancied horses dominate today - smallish payouts likely in the exotics today (famous last words) - play well.

Ajaccio misbehaved terribly in his last start. I'll be watching him carefully in the prelims today.

I seem to recall the trainer saying on his debut over 1200 that the horse needs further - now back to the 1200 - I'll be watching instead
