Did the Jock on Sept Moon drop his hands just before the line?

You know guys, for UD's competition my first decision (yesterday) was to go for a place on Speed Keeper (and I even tipped it to Elvis); further 'studying' convinced me that he was a better horse on the standside track; so then I decided to go for Eldorado in the first; but as I opened up the thread to post, I convinced myself that the better 'value' would be on Valmorne for a place; this is how one can study yourself right into the poorhouse:(

Well I'm off to the track next to the rubbish dump to hopefully lead in a winner (tu)

I agree, Barry. Some maiden races (especially for 2yos) can be excellent contests both from a punter's and a form student's point of view. I love looking for those baby races where the form stands up, and those were it doesn't. I had a friend years ago who did very well punting 2yos on collateral form. Of course it's not an exact science, nothing is, but if I were a punter that would hands down beat trying to make money out of moderate handicaps where every horse is exposed and at least half of them are either sore or lazy.

And, silly me I was almost very rude, good luck on your winner today. I loved the way she was still cruising when everything else was coming off the bit a long way from home. She won far better than the margin suggests, and I think you could have another nice one here. As a committed Count Dubois fan, I hope so even more that she is special.X(
