What a Winter will beat him over 1200m. I don't think that anything will beat him over sprints in this country.
The way the connections are talking, I think RZW will now go around the bend. If he does well, I can't see him racing over sprints again.
Lets hope he is as good as he seems. All the best to the connections.

I know these fields have not been world beaters, but the way RZW quickens off a quick pace is a sign of a top class sprinter in my opinion. If he goes over ground, then so be it, but he is a very good sprinter in the way he goes about his business. I'm not too sure where i would rate him right now? Perhaps the low 100's?

RZW now 3 from 3 and looks very smart, but there's nothing classy about punching opposition who are being held down. I'll reserve judgement till he meets horses who can hit back and aren't being held down by the handicapper.
This time 3yo Ridethebreeze (91) had to give 4yo RZW (78) 4kgs & 3kgs wfa and he only got beaten 6L.
RZW will go from 78 to 86 instead of the 95 (approx) he should get.
At this rate RZW should win another 2 handicaps in which all the other runners are weighted down to lose. Somewhere, this must make somebody happy.

I reckon RZW is a special one and Tony has had a few of them only to have lost them. I really hope this one stays in his stable for as long as possible. With a few more runs under the belt and maybe blinkers we can really judge him, he also appears naughty but maybe just the inexperience coming through?

Jack,
I can only describe this handicapping as a theft - theft from other handicapped horses.
The sad part is that RZW's trainer was in the bunch of people who advised on making the rules.
Apparently it matters not to the NHRA.

I will have my 2cents worth and say that i agree fully with Magic and Pirates firstly and say that over 1000 m What a winter would cruise in. Then to comment on Karels point of view - whoever was party to makeing the rule Tony has done what ever he had to do and it seems to me he has broken no rule only taken advantage of it. Good luck to him and the connections. I will say that in my opinion once this horse goes over ground be it 1400 or 1600 or more it will take something special to beat him . I think this horse my go unbeaten for quite a while and hope it does we need these kind of horses in this game right now. Time will tell .

jack and karel you both are 200 percent correct ...i would like to know from either from you if this ridiculous capping of ratings happens in any other countries...such as highest mr for a 4yo mdn winner is 70 the most you can penalise a plate race winner is 6 pounds and the most a handicap winner is 8 pounds etc....whats the use of having a system called MERIT RATINGS WHEN YOU CANNOT RATE HORSES ON MERIT..and also .please people dont bring up that the racing programme doesnt cater for progressive horses as the handicaper has nothing to do with the programme...

Both Delpech and Rivalland feel the horse needs to go over ground
