Another classic - "the starting stalls can do serious damage to a jockey especially if she is a female" Sexist comment better just to leave out the female bit Dumpy - My missus was not happy to hear that

Good morning fellas,
Never had a punt on anything but I wonder if I could ask a question of Newturf. Why did you guys decide to put blinkers on Classic Lecture? Was it to try make him run straight as I know he tends to hang to the right?
Not sure if it had the desired effect though as an already fast horse went a little too keen?
Anyway like I said I didn't have a punt, I was simply curious. MDK put blinkers on a horse in Dubai yesterday and I was also not sure it was the right idea.
Obviously I know very little about the mechanics, I was just curious.
Thanks

Morning Tommy, yes it was to try and keep him straight and to concentrate more. Brandon says he wasnt too keen, and to keep the blinkers on next time.

Watched the replay last night. Shocking commentary by Alan Schoeman. Besides completely calling the finish wrong, he called Classic Lecture 3 lengths clear. He must have been seeing things. 3 horses were in virtually a line.
Time for him to pack it in.
Keep Classic Lecture to 1000m Newturf. He will be very hard to beat.

Thanks for the comments, I appreciate your effort!
All the best and hopefully you guys will be training your own horses soon?
