Mr Shezi do/would you advise a client of your to take 2/1 when there is 28/10 available?

It's normal for bookmakers to offer less than what is available, how else will they trade?
Reality is - cash punters will punt Interbet or Betfair, while account punters must pay the price...take the shorter odds...

Claims in RSA is R25K, hence the reality is - account punters will get max R25K at the price, then another R25K at the new price.
Cash punters on Interbet and Betfair can negotiate for the best price, as much as they want...???

So, Shezi is doing what any other bookmaker is doing, attracting the +200 account punters, hoping to suck R2500 per week from each, generate a turnover of R24m per year, and collecting between 4% and 8% profit (R900K to R1,8m) on the turnover pa.

See it from the bookmakers income and expenses sheet..
Expenses..
Rent for venue - around R40k pm
Rent for Turfsport - aound R10K pm
Electricity - around R10k pm
Telephone/ADSL lines around R5k pm
Insurance around R3K pm
Salaries Manager R25K pm
Staff x 6 at R15K each - R90K pm
Bookmakers salary R50K pm
other security etc...around R10K pm

Total - around R240K pm or around R8k per day on 30 day month..10 races per day cost each around R800 per race..20 races R400 ea

Income...
Tote on R2m turnover R80K pm
Slot machines on 40/60 split around R20K pm

shortfall of R140K which must be made from trading...???
Lay the fav for R10k, lay the 2nd Fav for R5k..clean the rest of the book..take it back..

common sense tell one that making R140k laying fav and 2nd fav is doubtful...

So trading...laying at 2/1 and taking back at 5/2....
Common sense tells one that making R140K trading is doubtful..

The rest I will leave to your imagination...

The fact that we asked Shezi publicly (and Dave e-mailed) to discuss why they are cutting so many limits and he has not replied says a lot about the integrity of their business.

Gambling board should have a rule - if a punter complains to them about cut limits, the bookie should be forced to apply that limit to all his punters.

I am gonna contact the gambling board , to ask a question about limits .Surely if a betting company offers a R500k win limit on a single day , it makes no sense for them to be limiting bets which amount to a lower win amount, be it ina single race ?
