Why does Shezi get free advertising ?

It seems that Shezi's business plan is the following : Aggressively promote business and offer very good prices to lure a large customer base. Then cull that customer base quickly - getting rid of anyone who beats them even once.

Why not give Sportingbet a miss and change to Chandlers or wait for Ladbrokes in the New Year ?

The bookies in RSA will lay good odds on UK racing venues, as the RSA offers 2 points less than what they take back in the UK.

Cash bets are few and far between in most venues (soccer excluded)
A few punters in RSA will get R250K, R500K and even R1M..the last was R1m/R40K..
These guys normally are played head-on by the bookies, bets are not recorded on Turfsport, and if they are recorded, it will be bigs-smalls (dropping 1 or 2 zeros).

The majority of punters are on a R10K limit, expected to drop the R10K pm, settling R2.5K each Tuesday.
Pushing the limits past the R10K pm will result in many punters falling in.

The idea is recruit +200 punters spending R10K pm.....R2,000,000 pm turnover from online/telephone customers..R24m pa.
between 4% and 8% profit pa on the R24m....around R900k to R1,8m profit pa.

The model only works when we settle around R2.5k pw.
If settling were to be done on a monthly basis, most of the R10K limits would be used up, and settling would become less than 30%.

SO its obvious, when a punter is winning, we need to move him on...
Cut his limit, then he cannot get on, when he cannot get on, he moves..

Bookies therefore look at all punters as MUGS..
when you are not classified as a MUG (you win to often)...you are no longer a customer..

Lay good odds on UK racing andre? you ever compaired starting prices? obv not! plus we don`t pay tax on horse racing in the uk,so there is another 6% better..

Everytime one of the top 3 or 4 in the betting wins in the UK the SA returned price is always smaller,then you have your bees wax!!!

correct, they return much lower than the sp. I was at the bookmaker in shelley beach about 3/4 years ago and had R1000 on a jumps horse that won at kmpton/sandown trained by veneita, i cant rememebr the name but it was 10/1 (12.5 betfair) and i got paid out @ 6/1 less the 6%

If you consider Betfair as the true measure of the market then it is interesting that if the ruling price horse is 3/1 in the UK you will be lucky to get a full stretch.However if the ruling price is 3/1 with local bookies on a local race,5/1 will almost sure to be available on Betfair.
That shows what the exchange punters think of our Bookie's prices!

I just found out that at shezi's sportingbet site if you were issued a voucher (i was via the abc comp) and you win on your bets you CANNOT withdraw any money until you have wagered 3 times the amount of the voucher.... now FFS i have to wager R3000 before i can withdraw 1 cent!!!!!!!... bobs your uncle!!!

By all intents and purposes Shezi is just a puppet for a bookmaker that cut its cloth in the UK. Withdrawls and caviats like that are common. Thes eguys are one tracked , the most recent "funny" is ladcrookes withdrawing their "markets" from oddschecker. Som e of the other big firms are set to follow. They HATE being compared and they HATE arbers, i was recently a guest of Victor C at twickenham and i was told in no incertain terms that their BIGGEST fear is blokes that are clearly arbing.
