Hibs just my opinion but Salutation will prefer the out track, Seikitupbaby better in this race.... I will probably have egg on my face now:)

Variety looks the right one in the 2nd.

Outsiders to consider are Uyagiya in the 7th and Potchestroom in the 8th

All the Woodruff horses are shorthening in the betting - stable in hot form so probably not wise going against him - use them as a basis for the exotics.

Some other thoughts:

R3: Azzie very confident on USO on City of Bells - will give Altelekker a run today imo
R4: I think the betting is all wrong here - Swift Lady finished in front of Milesandmore last time and both are unproven over the trip - I'm going to load up
R5: I agree with gregbucks - Sheikitupbaby loves this trip but if Blue Jean Baby stays the trip she could be a class above these - if she fails, anything can win - even Spirirted Away has run only 2 lenghts behind Sheikitupbaby over this trip and is better off at the weights here - Millie Most could also improve more
R6: Shea Shea the obvious one at the weights - I expect Ozymandias will chase him home
R7: Joyful probabably much better than his maiden win on sand - but if not, it becomes very competitive - Beach Club should be right there again and both Uyagiya and Coldkentuckyrain could feature as well on their run behind Red Ammo, while Stamping Ground represents the Woodruf stable - but is drawn wide
R8: Another competitive race - Superfederation loves the trip as does Captain Butler - I expected Casey's Guest to win a lot easier last time, but he could feature again despite getting a 5 pound penalty
R9: Radiant Rock only got a 2 point penalty for winning easier than the margin suggests last time, so should be right there again, while Majestic Circle is really struggling for his next win but should place again.

Play well

I didn't back it so I had no material interest in the "Variety" race, but it seems to me that Azzie always manages to make the mistake of putting blinkers on a young horse when it has solid form. EVERY time the same thing happens. It goes like the clappers and gets caught on the line....It happens ALL the time. The 1 time in relatively recent memory where it worked was the first time My Kazzie won with the blinkers at the Turrfontein inside track, but the race was taken away later due to some misunderstanding.......

If a horse has great form WITHOUT blinkers, why run her in them? She has enough speed anyway, no need to "sharpen" her up?????

Comments?

Problem with Azzie is that he talks too much . Gives punters high hopes on his horses . He rather shut his trap and let his horses do their business . One trainer who you appreciate when he says nothing at all .

Tommy,

I personally haven't noticed that - but I'll take your word for itB)

I'm sure 'The Azzman' will have reasons for fitting the blinkers - perhaps he felt that she needed blinkers to keep her mind on the job, but in hindsight it seems it was the wrong decision - she certainly went a cracking pace in front. Let's see what happens to City of Bells in the next.

Isn't racing a funny game though - just more than a week ago, the runners from the Zaki stable all failed to find a place in both KZN and up here in Gauteng. I have a small share in an unraced 3yr old colt (out of a mare I had a share in) in his stable - yesterday afternoon Dom phoned me out of the blue (first time ever) to tell me the good news that the colt is doing very nicely and is due to make his debut soon - and guess what, it is as if he gets rewarded for finally picking up the phone by winning with Bussell(tu)
